Summary[]
Angry with Adam Cartwright for constantly criticizing her decisions and refusing to make his intentions toward her clear; Laura Dayton becomes easy prey for a handsome grifter.
Plot[]
A smooth-talking stranger, Ward Bannister, comes to Virginia City, claiming to be a friend of her late husband, Frank.
Upset with Adam for his unsolicited advice regarding the running of her ranch; Laura sets herself up to be scammed by the slippery Bannister whose intention is to steal her ranch.
Adam, now hesitant to offer more input, secretly checks up on Ward in an effort to protect Laura. Matters are complicated further when Ward finds himself falling for the lovely young widow.
